Nicola Koschel – Sustainable tourism consultant with a global mindset and a passion for doing travel differently.

With 18+ years of international experience, I help destinations, businesses, and organizations turn sustainability into practical strategies that benefit communities, visitors, and the planet.

My work focuses on creating a balanced approach to tourism development—one that aligns economic viability with environmental stewardship and community empowerment.

With a BBA in Tourism Management and a Master's in Sustainable Tourism, I’ve supported destinations and organizations in growing responsibly. I've worked across Europe, the Americas and Asia, partnering with locals, NGOs, governments and global players like WWF to craft smarter, greener tourism solutions.

Since 2016, I've been part of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), helping to define what truly sustainable travel means on a global scale.

Whether it's supporting local tourism projects, training tourism professionals, working in protected areas, or crafting sustainability standards, I'm all about creating real, lasting impact through smart, mindful travel.

In addition to consulting, I have a passion for storytelling. Sustainability needs great stories to really resonate with the world, and I team up with my husband, Philip, to bring your sustainability efforts to life through photography, videography, and content marketing.

Today, more than ever, leveraging collective expertise is essential to creating places that are better to live in and to visit—benefiting communities, visitors, and the planet we all depend on.
